Snow Trips Victoria Itinerary

You can build a snowman in Australia, just two hours away from Melbourne. In addition to playing in the snow, you can hike to the summit of Lake Mountain, rent toboggans, and enjoy other activities. Experience the joy of being a child again with direct transfer and entry included at this stunning Alpine resort.

The Alpine resort, named after Surveyor-General George Lake, does not have a lake to visit but instead boasts a mountain. Visitors can easily reach the resort, located 120 km northeast of Melbourne, without the need for transfer buses or lift passes.

The resort is situated in an area with abundant cross-country ski tracks and toboggan fields, which have modern facilities. Visitors will have ample time to enjoy the charming chalets that offer picturesque views of the mountains. The facilities at the resort include a restaurant, day shelter, cafe, ski equipment, retail shop, snow sports centre, ski school, and more.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy various activities, including tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoe walks, and snowball fights, during the three-hour duration.

One option is to hike up to the summit of Lake Mountain during this time for stunning snowy views.

In the later hours of the day, you embark on a journey spanning 700 meters towards the magnificent and breathtaking Steavenson Falls, recognized as one of the tallest waterfalls in Victoria.

This waterfall received its name in honour of John Steavenson, who was Assistant Commissioner of Roads and Bridges and visited Marysville in 1862. The waters take an 84-meter dive into the valley of the Steavenson River. This waterfall is a central feature of the 190-hectare area designated as the Steavenson Falls Scenic Reserve.

Since the 1860s, Steavenson Falls has become a favoured destination for tourists in Marysville. Its unique charm and extraordinary natural splendour are reasons you’ll find it captivating. This natural marvel will leave you in a state of wonder, featuring five distinct tiers and a collective drop of 122 meters.

During our return trip to Melbourne, we passed through the Yarra Valley to visit a highly regarded chocolate factory.

Visitors can enjoy various handcrafted chocolate products and sweet treats at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. There are also opportunities to sample free samples and purchase goodies to take home.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the Yarra Valley’s vineyards, hills, and mountain ranges while exploring their lawns. The valley is known for its wine production, adding to the overall charm and beauty of the area.
