Itinerary
As Melbourne’s most proximate distinguished wine district, the Yarra Valley is a 40-minute car journey from the metropolitan centre, commencing from the central CBD. You will soon indulge in the pleasures and secret treasures that ‘The Valley’ provides.
The region’s excellent climate conditions are superbly suited for cultivating Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and various sparkling wines.
Boasting a wine production history that exceeds 170 years, with origins dating back to 1838 following European colonization, the Yarra Valley has been historically recognized as a land of richness for the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Aboriginal communities.
The strategic location, the soil’s composition, and the region’s calm climatic atmosphere facilitate the growth of vineyards and a wealth of local agricultural produce from the neighbouring farms.
Yarra Valley Chocolates
Embark on a journey through the Yarra Valley with our wine tours, starting at a haven for chocolate enthusiasts! Relish in a chocolate sampling while soaking in the stunning vistas of orchards and the magnificent Yarra Valley. Witness the artistry of European chocolate makers as they create over 400 varieties of chocolates, all available for you to buy. This is the perfect spot to pick up unique local treats, ideal as gifts for anyone who adores chocolate. Alternatively, enjoy coffee or a scoop of artisanal ice cream at the café!
Winery called St. Herberts Cellar Door
St Hubert’s Vineyard, a pioneer in the area since 1862, has played a significant role in establishing the Yarra Valley as a top-tier wine region since the 1960s. Specializing in superb Cabernet Sauvignon, the vineyard now offers Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Roussanne, contributing to its fine wines suited to the climate. The vineyard has recently expanded its offerings to include exclusive varieties like Sparkling Rose, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Munier. Visitors can enjoy a sophisticated 8-glass wine tasting at one of the valley’s modern tasting rooms, and the quality of the wines is sure to impress.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch in Healesville
Enjoy some leisure time in the charming town of Healesville. We’ve included free time here for our guests to have lunch and explore this welcoming gateway to the Yarra Valley. Our tour is designed to give guests a glimpse of the Yarra Valley through the eyes of locals rather than just a series of winery visits. Take your time to discover Healesville’s quaint shops, art galleries, cozy cafes, and inviting restaurants. (the guest bears expenses for lunch and activities)
Afternoon Cellar Door Tastings
We visited two family-run boutique wineries for tastings in the afternoon. Our schedule can be adjusted based on group size or availability. Some of the wineries we enjoyed on the Yarra Valley Wine Tour include Yering Farm Wines, Medhurst Wines, Yering Station, Killara Estate, Napoleone Cider & Orchard, Rochford Wines Yarra Valley, and Helen & Joey’s Wines. Relax in the peaceful country surroundings while sipping wine from their incredible selection.
