Victoria’s renowned, essential journey is the Great Ocean Road. We aim to showcase this coastal path’s splendour someday, guiding you through unspoiled beaches, verdant rainforests, and stark limestone cliffs.

Prepare to be astonished by the 12 Apostles – these prominent rock structures are just offshore from Port Campbell National Park in Victoria. Immerse yourself in the allure of this untouched landscape while our experts share tales and historical accounts that have moulded this magnificent shoreline.

After we depart from Melbourne, our route takes us to the Surf Coast, meandering through charming coastal villages like Anglesea, Lorne, and Airey’s Inlet. We’ll pause for a morning refreshment, savouring the clean ocean breeze and observing surfers in the waves. Given its closeness to Antarctica, you’ll discover the reasons behind this area’s superb surfing conditions and the necessity of wetsuits.
We’ll stop at the Great Ocean Road’s commemorative monument, signifying the road’s initial commencement point. Following some photo opportunities at the renowned Memorial Arch and a brief history of the soldiers who constructed this road to honour their lost brethren, our journey continues amid more breathtaking vistas (with photo stops, naturally!).
During the journey, there will be stops along the Great Ocean Road to search for wild Koalas. Although their appearance cannot be guaranteed, our experienced guides know the best locations to observe them resting in the bush.
A lunch break is taken in Apollo Bay, which lasts approximately 45 minutes and is at guests’ own expense. After exploring Apollo Bay, purchasing souvenirs, or trying some ice cream, the journey continues by bus to the Great Otway National Park inland.
We are still on the Great Ocean Road, heading into the lush green hills of the Great Otway National Park. As we drive past towering Eucalyptus trees, we eventually reach a patch of Cool, Temperate Rainforest. The scenery drastically changes as we walk through the tree ferns and admire the ‘ancient relics’ of Myrtle Beach trees. These trees provide a perfect canopy shade and have origins from when Australia was part of Gondwanaland. Please take a deep breath of the fresh air before we continue our relaxing drive to the dramatic Shipwreck Coast.
After leaving the trees and returning to the Southern Ocean, we reach Port Campbell National Park, famous for the iconic 12 Apostles. During our visit, you will have approximately 40 minutes to explore the Apostles, allowing you to admire the views from different perspectives, stroll along the boardwalks, and capture the perfect pictures of this untamed and rugged coastline.
Additionally, within the National Park, we venture to Loch Ard Gorge, the location of one of Australia’s most renowned maritime disasters. Listen to the riveting story of Tom and Eva, and then descend to the shoreline to explore the caverns. This area is also where notable rock structures like the Island Archway, Razorback, and the ‘Salt and Pepper Shakers’ are situated.

Following a day of discovery, we bid farewell to the Great Ocean Road and redirected inland, setting course back to Melbourne via rural thoroughfares. We traverse pastoral lands on our way to the township of Colac. Here, there’s an opportunity for a swift evening meal (at the attendees’ own cost) if desired, as our anticipated return time to Melbourne is around 8:30 pm.
